The Faculty of Food Science and Technology (Formerly the Faculty of Chemical and Food Engineering) was established in 1999.
- In October, 2005, the Rector issued a decision to establish the Faculty of Biotechnology and Environmental Engineering, by separating from the Faculty of Chemical and Food Engineering. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Dinh Tuan was appointed as Dean.
- Along with the development of the University, on August 15, 2014, the Rector issued a decision to establish the Faculty of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, by merging the Faculty of Chemical and Food Engineering and the Faculty of Biotechnology and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Nguyen Huynh Bach Son Long was appointed as Dean.
- On June 5, 2021, the Rector issued Decision No. 264/QĐ-ĐHLH to rename the Faculty of Chemical and Environmental Engineering to the Faculty of Food Science and Technology. Dr. Le Thi Thu Huong was appointed as Dean, term 2020 - 2025.

The Faculty of Food Science and Technology aims to become one of the leading centers of training, scientific research and technology transfer of non-public universities in Vietnam. It provides high-quality graduates to effectively serve the process of industrialization and modernization for the southern provinces and the whole country.
The Objectives of the Faculty from now to 2030 is to
- Maintain and develop the training of engineers in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering with the best quality.
- Take efforts to update and improve the curriculum, meeting the growing demand for human resources, especially meeting the industrial revolution 4.0.
