On April 15, 2025, the campus of Lac Hong University’s Facility 2 became a vibrant hub of activity as "The FIT Cooking Challenge 2025" officially kicked off. With 17 teams from the Faculty of Information Technology participating, the competition created an exciting environment that fostered team spirit and honed practical skills for students.
More than just a competition, "The Fit Cooking Challenge" provided fun and exciting moments as teams worked together to prepare and cook a three-course meal consisting of a main dish, a soup, and a stir-fried dish or vegetables. Each team had 60 minutes to complete the challenge. While ingredients could be prepped beforehand, they could not be pre-cooked. The organizers supported each team with a budget of 100,000 VND for ingredients, giving students the opportunity to test their financial planning skills and use their resources as effectively as possible.
The teams preparing their student meals
Laughter filled the campus as the teams busily prepared and discussed their plans. Members not only shared tasks but also exchanged ideas and offered suggestions to ensure their meals were both delicious and beautifully presented, while also meeting all the competition's criteria. The final minutes of the competition were particularly dramatic as teams rushed to complete their plating.
The judging panel, made up of lecturers and representatives from the organizing committee, carefully evaluated each team based on criteria such as flavor, nutritional value, presentation, hygiene, creativity, and cost-effectiveness. These were crucial criteria that not only tested their cooking skills but also helped students develop scientific thinking and teamwork abilities.
The judges scoring each team
After an exciting morning, the top three teams were honored with prizes from the organizers. However, what lingered most was the enthusiastic spirit, joy, and camaraderie among the students. This was not just an opportunity for teams to showcase their abilities but also a lesson in how to optimize resources, work effectively in a group, and apply creative thinking in a practical way.
The winning teams
"The FIT Cooking Challenge 2025" was not just a playground for young people to express their passion for cooking but also a chance to strengthen teamwork, develop soft skills, and connect the student community. The competition has concluded, but the memorable moments will surely remain with all the participants.
