LHU officially commences the 465th AUN-QA Programme Assessment

On the morning of August 26, 2025, LHU in collaboration with the ASEAN University Network (AUN), officially launched the 465th AUN - QA Programme Assessment for four Master’s programs: Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Finance – Banking, and Information Technology. This significant milestone highlights the University’s strategic commitment to ensuring and enhancing educational quality in line with regional and international standards.

The opening session was attended by Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai – Chairwoman of the University Council; members of the University’s Board of Rectors; leaders, faculty, and staff from various units. Representing the AUN-QA delegation were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gerardo L. Largoza from De La Salle University, the Philippines, who served as Lead Assessor and assessor for the Civil Engineering Master’s Program; along with other assessors from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi and Mahidol University (Thailand), University of Malaya (Malaysia), and Far Eastern University (the Philippines).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam – Vice Rector of LHU in charge of education accreditation stated “When a program is assessed externally by AUN-QA, students can be assured that its curriculum, teaching methods, and learning outcomes are designed to meet international standards, ensuring high credibility and practical relevance. International accreditation also opens opportunities for cooperation, joint programs, and credit transfer with partner universities. At LHU, the strategic partnership agreement signed with Arizona State University (USA) in March 2025 is a prime example. Graduates from internationally accredited programs not only serve local enterprises but also contribute to strengthening the regional and national workforce”.

As planned, the 465th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at LHU will take place from August 26 to 28, 2025. During this period, the external assessment delegation will review documents, self-assessment reports, and supporting evidence. They will also work with the Faculty Management Board, SAR teams, academic staff, support staff, students, alumni, employers,... and other stakeholders of the four programs. In addition, the delegation will visit facilities and services such as the library, computer rooms, practice rooms, and laboratories. This assessment will help LHU and the four programs identify their strengths and areas for improvement, thereby providing solutions for continuous quality enhancement.
