[FFA] Specialized Seminar: Volatility and Risks in International Logistics Contracts – Bridging Academic Knowledge and Industry Practice

In order to strengthen academic activities associated with industry practice and provide students with opportunities to engage with real-world issues in the logistics sector, on March 10, 2026, the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Lac Hong University, successfully organized a specialized seminar entitled “Volatility and Risks in International Logistics Contracts: Force Majeure or Hardship?” at Hall A301.

In the context of increasingly volatile global trade—driven by geopolitical conflicts, disruptions in global supply chains, rising transportation costs, and various uncertainties in logistics operations—understanding legal issues and risk management in international logistics contracts has become critically important. Therefore, the seminar aimed to provide students with a more comprehensive understanding of the risks that may arise during the execution of international logistics contracts, while also equipping them with essential knowledge and skills required for the international business environment.

The seminar featured Mr. Huynh Lam Hoai Anh, Operations Manager at Key Development Kit Trading and Service Co., Ltd., who possesses extensive experience in logistics and supply chain management. During the seminar, the speaker delivered insightful presentations on common risks encountered in international logistics contracts and provided a detailed analysis of two important legal concepts in international trade: Force Majeure and Hardship. Practical examples drawn from real business operations helped students better understand how logistics enterprises manage unexpected situations and risks within global supply chains.

A highlight of the seminar was the interactive discussion session between the speaker and students. Numerous questions were raised by students regarding issues such as dispute resolution in international logistics contracts, risk management practices in international transportation, and the professional skills required for careers in logistics and supply chain management. The speaker’s practical and candid responses provided students with valuable insights into industry expectations and emerging trends in the logistics sector within the context of global integration.

The seminar attracted the enthusiastic participation of a large number of students majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, as well as students from related disciplines such as Accounting and Finance. Through this event, students not only gained updated professional knowledge but also had the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from industry experience, thereby gaining clearer perspectives on their future career paths.

Organizing specialized seminars with the participation of industry professionals is one of the key initiatives of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting to strengthen the linkage between academic training and the practical needs of the labor market. At the same time, such activities also serve as an opportunity to introduce prospective students to the dynamic, practice-oriented learning environment at Lac Hong University, thereby contributing to recruitment efforts and the continued development of academic programs in logistics, finance, and business in the coming years.
