LHU and LHBS have sponsored two computer labs for schools in Dong Nai's border region

    August 29, 2025

In line with its mission of social responsibility and commitment to advancing education, Lac Hong University (LHU) in collaboration with Lac Hong Bilingual School (LHBS), with the support and coordination of local authorities, have donated two fully equipped computer labs valued at 300 million VND to schools in a border region.

Bridging technology and knowledge for border students

According to representatives from LHU, this initiative is part of the university’s long-term strategy to promote equitable access to quality education, particularly for students in disadvantaged regions. Each laboratory is fully equipped with essential learning software, directly serving students of Tan Thanh Primary School and Tan Thanh Secondary School in Tan Tien Commune, Dong Nai Province.

The two donated computer labs have become a solid “bridge” of technology and knowledge, enabling teachers and students in remote areas to access modern information technology resources. In the context of global digital transformation, acquiring digital literacy and computer skills is a crucial requirement to enhance education quality and open new opportunities for students.

This meaningful contribution demonstrates a strong investment in inclusive and sustainable education, particularly in narrowing the digital divide and ensuring that every learner has equal access to information technology.

    A representative of LHU emphasized:

“We believe that investing in people, especially through education, is the most solid foundation for building a sustainable society. This initiative is part of LHU’s series of social impact projects, aiming to spread humanitarian values and accompany the development of the wider community.”

Beyond providing equipment, LHU also deployed volunteers to assist teachers in managing and operating the computer labs, while organizing training workshops on basic digital literacy skills. This effort reflects the university’s vision of fostering strong linkages between higher education institutions and local communities, contributing to capacity building and lifelong learning opportunities.

    Long-Term Impact and Sustainable Development

    As one local teacher noted:

“This gift is not just about the computers—it represents hope and opportunities for our students to open the doors of knowledge.”

This initiative is among many community-oriented activities led by LHU and LHBS under their “Education for Sustainable Impact” programs, reaffirming the institutions’ commitment to:

    • SDG 4 (Quality Education): Expanding access to modern learning tools for underserved communities.

    • SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities): Supporting equal opportunities in education for disadvantaged students.

    • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): Strengthening collaboration between universities, schools, and local authorities to achieve shared sustainable outcomes.

Through these efforts, LHU and LHBS not only stand beside their students but also share broader social responsibility, spreading humanitarian values and contributing to the advancement of a sustainable, inclusive future.
